Who said Google support is lacking?
I was having an issue with my Google Analytics account not linking my Google Adwords data. I had heard many stories of Google's customer support lacking from various sources on the web. However, my experience with them today was far different. I decided to give them a call, not expecting to get through to an actual human. Shortly after calling 1-866-2-GOOGLE, I was connected to a lady who was very friendly and helpful. She told me that she was having a meeting with the Analytics team later in the afternoon, and that she would bring up my case to the team.
Four hours later, I received the following email from Google
"Hello Chris, Thank you for contacting Google AdWords today. I understand that you were concerned about not seeing data for AdWords traffic in your Analytics account which is linked to your AdWords account. As we discussed, I took this issue to our Analytics team this afternoon. They determined that AdWords cost data was not being applied to the Analytics profile for TheComputerGroup.net, which is why you were not seeing AdWords traffic data in your Analytics reports. Other profiles in your account did have cost data applied. When linking AdWords and Analytics accounts, there is a checkbox to 'Apply Cost Data.' Moving forward, our Analytics team applied AdWords cost data to the profile for TheComputerGroup.net to your Analytics account. You'll start seeing AdWords traffic source data within 24 hours. For more information on cost data, please refer to the following link in the Analytics Help Center devoted to this topic: http://www.google.com/support/googleanalytics/bin/topic.py?topic=20430. Sincerely, Anita V. The Google AdWords Team"
To my surprise, they actually fixed my problem. My Analytics account is now showing my Adwords traffic data. Thank you Google!
